So, I am still alive and I hope you are too.
This should mean there was no Apocalypse.
Or was it just the beginning of the end?

However, to celebrate our living and to take advantage of that fitting date...
I`m releasing some teaser artwork and a little introduction to my postapocalyptic WIP-project "THE SHIT", enjoy:

"It`s the world 100A.A. - 100 years After the Apocalypse.

Few survived and fewer are still alive and willing to tell about the horrors they've been through.
Some say the unbelievable was unleashed during the darkest days, but no one really remembers what the war was all about, or if there was a winner.  And no one really cares. They have to deal with the shit that was left behind.

A new society was built upon the ruins of the aftermath.
The Order was founded by scientists and wise man of the church, to retrieve, gather and archivate artifacts and wisdom from before the so-called "Last War". So they can protect the surviving humanity from the threads of technology.
Science and religion had become one. The people had somehow lost their faith in gods. They needed something else to believe in.  And so it was technology they worshipped.

The last war had not only reshaped the earth. It had changed men.
Radiation, incest, bio-weopons and inhuman military experiments had altered our DNA, leading to mutation, disfiguration, abomination and sometimes even to strange supernatural powers. Those affected by the "disease" were called the Ex - Ex standing for exiled, extreme and ex-human. But the Ex want to be extraordinary. Referring to old comicbooks they found, some of them started to interprete themselves as superheros and -villains. The Order however tried to keep the gene-pool clean and so the Ex became hunted outcasts, burned at the stake or pushed to live in the wastelands of the contaminated cities.

Former policemen, soldiers and other armed forces have formed a new kind of fighting nobility, the "Arms".
Passing their weapons and titles on to their offspring. And most of the nobles were competing for the favor of the Order, which made duelling and crusades into the wastelands, referred to as "ex-tinctions", fashionable.

But the disease did not care about titles.
It was most complex and flexible and not always obvious. Some of those warriors that returned from the ex-tinctions just grew extra strong, some metamorphed later and became outlaws, others had wretched, deformed babies.
The nobles split up in a constant war. And so mankind fought itself again -the exwar - wasting lives - disregarding the dangers that still lurked hidden in the shadows of the past..."

I am still looking for a suiting subtitle, crispy OCs and fantastic storywriters to join me in this epic quest of creation.
So if you are interested and willing to work for free, or just have an awesome idea  leave a comment or sent me a note.
I'm also going to host some pitches and contests in the near future.

I also want to use the opportunity to thank the awesome :iconjadeitor: for giving me a premium membership, which allows me

to pimp my site :)

Thanks for reading.

My first reaction to the title "The shit": laughing. What an unusual name for story of people struggling in apocalypse! It somehow suits; even I would swear or be upset if I were in a situation like that. But then again, the title may be misleading, and can be taken in two ways: Wether the title tells that this story has lot of sarcasm and (black)humor in it (like I first thought before reading intro), OR how shitty things has become in their unfortunate world... Well, we'll see how this story proceeds. I recommend to create story first, think about titles later.
I kinda agree with ~ensignpulverize with his comment: supernatural stuff has become kinda overused thing. But if they have just little powers, that would be explained, or at least make sense, it would make story unexpected and interesting... Example: having a skin of cameleont. Or Sixh-sense, also known as "in advance-warning-sense" is logical. Sixth sense would make challenge to it, if the character may not always respond quickly to the warning. Character may also be lucky to be warned hours earlier of the unknown, but also unfortunate to be warned in just seconds before danger. People nowadays respects stories, where characters has limits and weaknesses, making it easier to understand and conform with characters. It would be also interesting to see characters that are as vulnerable/fragile as humans in real world! You know, people who is shot in leg can't walk in weeks, and when thinking about apocalypse, people may abandon people who are sick or just burden in their team. Bulletproof supermans, invisible humans, and form changing people are too Marvel, and I guess you're looking for something original in your story.

These are just suggestions. In the end you are the one who decides of how the story rolls. If the story is the tree's trunk, story's characters with interesting personalities are the branches of the tree. Hope your story will thrive and bloom. :)

Thank you very much for the feedback, it is much appreciated and I will definitely consider taking some of the suggestions of my readers into the story. For the powers I agree on keeping them low. But be patient it may still take a long time until the first episode is ready to read.

You're welcome. :)
I understand; there must be much to do before releasing first episode. As I'm creating own comic and story as well, it's been very tempting to rush things and get to action, but good thing that I soon realized that carefully planned story will be very appealing for both creator and readers. :D
We'll be patient. ^^

Your story outline is an interesting take on the post-apocalypse genre. Please! No super-natural stuff! I think this would be better if it was 'pure' Science Fiction.
(Of course, that it just my preference. You can make it any way you like.) I don't think the title is workable either. Perhaps you could call it "The Gleaners" since they go around picking up the scraps of the old civilization? ( or "The Preservers"? or "The Gatherers?)
Also, I might try to write a story for this/you, if that's ok.

Good Luck with your projects! :D

That's actually a point I'm still struggling with. How much "fantasy" can this world have without getting toooo cheesy...?
For the title: I'm quite happy with it, but people keep complaining...thinking...dunno We'll see about that.
Eventual subtitle: 100A.A.
If you wanna write something, start with a one site short story about that boy.
Want some xtra info for that? Send me a message with a rough idea about the story;)

Sounds like a really cool idea! I'd love to help out in some way, this sounds like an awesome project!

Oh I'm glad you like it.
And what would you want to add to the project?
Well I'm still in the process of gathering ideas an creating concepts
-you could start with answering a question:
what kind of character would you like to see in a main role?
This is for now a non-profit leisure time project of mine and I do not guaranty to use provided assets, but I'd be glad to get some nice ideas and feedback. And if there's more you can do, tell me!

I could definitely help out with the story aspect. I could give character designs a go as well, but there are probably better people for it than me XD

Hmm...main character...well I'm a huge fan of character development so I guess someone with quite a few flaws that need fixing. And I mean, it really depends on the story. I'm tempted to say a male protagonist, maybe even an anti-hero, but someone you can relate to and sympathise with.

I'll be glad to help out any way I can :)
